Two years ago, the St. Anne Adult and Handbell Choirs visited Eastern Europe on pilgrimage. At that time, we participated at Mass and sang at the Cathedral churches of Prague, Krakow and Budapest. Prior to 2007, our pilgrimage took us to Italy where we participated in the funeral of Pope John Paul II.
A pilgrimage is more than a simple journey. It is made in a spirit of reverential awe to places made holy because of incredible events that occurred. The purpose of pilgrimage is to visit these places, to affirm their sacredness and, through this, to be renewed in the process. In short, we share our faith and we are in turn strengthened by the faith of those we share with.
